I'm a healthy nutrition educator, author, and a popular public speaker. My specialty in the nutrition education world is chemical clean up and gut health. I've worked with 1,000s of people all over the world to teach them how to navigate the grocery store’s mammoth packaged food stock, to decipher confusing food labels, understand the relationship of food additives to poor health, and find real food. In my book, "The Pantry Principle: How to Read the Label and Understand What's Really in Your Food" I've taught people how to take back control of their pantry and make food choices to support their health goals. I am a member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior, and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the American Holistic Health Association and am a member of the Professional Advisory Board for the Turner Syndrome Society.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No. This challenge does not follow any particular dietary theory. It’s meant to be a foundational challenge to help you get back on track for healthy, balanced nutritional choices. Having said that there have been participants who did follow a specific dietary plan and they were easily able to adapt what they were learning to their nutritional plan.
No, this challenge isn’t a diet. It’s a three-day focus on building better food habits. Because of the reduction in simple carbohydrates and sugar, plus eating more veggies, some people may lose a modest amount of weight (1-2 pounds) during the 3 days, but that is not the primary focus of this challenge.
This challenge is not a strict regimen of providing a structured breakfast, lunch, dinner menu that you are required to follow. I also don’t believe in forcing people to eat foods that they don’t like. If you don’t like kale it’s not required. The challenge does, however, encourage you to add veggies to your diet, we’ll just focus on the ones you like.
It sounds great when you are doing a challenge to get all of the material at once so you can go over at your leisure. However, a lot of time when we have all of the information at once it’s easy to set it aside “for later” and that sometimes leads to not doing it. If, on the other hand, you take the time to go through it step-by-step you are learning as you build healthy habits. This is are more sustainable in the long run.
Yes! You will receive a done-for-you meal plan with recipes and a shopping list to make it easy to complete the challenge.
The challenge doesn’t require a 100% organic diet. I do suggest organic for the Dirty Dozen (those 12 fruits and vegetables most likely to be contaminated by pesticides).
This challenge is structured to encourage following a gluten-free plan for the 3 days. You won’t have to think about what is or isn’t gluten because the meals are already planned for you.
The amount of salt you consume while going through this challenge is up to you.
I do not recommend any artificial sweeteners. Both during the challenge and beyond.
I do not recommend counting calories. This challenge is focused on eating whole, nourishing, real foods and paying attention to how your body feels rather than following the dictates of a number.
It’s important to know that I am not a doctor and this challenge does not focus on specific/chronic health conditions. This is a foundational challenge that encourages eating whole foods and nourishing the body. If you have concerns about following a challenge which encourages healthy eating habits, less sugar, and more vegetables, in combination with your specific health issue please consult your doctor before you sign up.
If you have a true food allergy, a food intolerance, or foods that you prefer not to eat you are welcome to make substitutions to accommodate this.

The Eat Well To Be Well Challenge has helped people around the world
who were looking for a good start to get back to healthy eating.
